Busta 929 causes trouble due to a no-show on December 31

Busta 929, real name Thapelo Ndou, frustrated his Zimbabwean fans by failing to attend a gig on December 31.

The event organizers and producer’s team disagree on an R100,000 refund.

Sunday World revealed that the DJ had been booked as the main act for Bulawayo’s Munch and Sip food festival.

The organizers said: “They assured us that they were excited to come to Zimbabwe, a poster and marketing strategy was put into place, and we took the backlash on our strides, especially because of Busta 929 controversies.”

“We continued and stood by the decision we had made, and we were required to pay everything in full because of exchange rates he then explained that we were short by R5 000, and we sent it the day before he was supposed to travel,” they added.

When the organizers announced that Busta 929 wouldn’t come for the show, the crowd threw bottles and caused some damage.
